Josep M Martinez Lozano

Josep M Martinez Lozano (1923 - 2006) was active/lived in Spain.  Josep Lozano is known for Painting.

Painter and watercolorist, Martínez Lozano trained between Barcelona and Venice, and made his solo debut in Figueras in 1946. Since then he has held exhibitions of his work in Madrid and Barcelona, and in Llançà he founded the School of Arts and Crafts.

In 1963 he obtained the City of Tarrassa Prize at the Biennial of Painting, and since 1965 he will hold exhibitions of his work in France, Italy, England and Belgium. In 1975 he received the National Watercolor Prize, and in 1989 he promoted the creation of the J. Martínez Lozano de Llançà Foundation Watercolor Museum, which currently preserves most of his work.

Specializing in the landscape and the marina, he was president of the Barcelona Association of Watercolorists between 1994 and 1998.
