Tran Duy (1920 - 2014) is known for Painting.

Tran Duy, whose real name is Tran Quang Tang, was born into a royal family in Hue in 1920. At the end of high school, around 1940, he met Mai Van Thu and Vo Lang, both of whom were studying at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de l'Indochine in Hanoi. Impressed by this, Tran Duy decided to enrol in the school and commence his studies there.In the late 1960s, Tran Duy turned to silk painting. His preferred themes include landscapes, trees, ancient temples and shrines, old houses. His paintings are natural and elegant. His style is thoughtful, and meticulous, manifesting a soft and gentle demeanor. Even in addressing small details, his style remains somewhat restrained, yet he effectively conveys vitality and emotional depth. His paintings are characterised by thin but bold brushstrokes and an insipid but subtle colour palette.
