She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona and held her first solo exhibition in 1987. Her work often reflects on the duality of social action-individual identity, art-spirituality, and the position of the subject in the contemporary world. Gómez has had numerous solo exhibitions in Spain and internationally, including at the Miró Foundation in Barcelona and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice. Her work can be found in various institutions, including the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid and the L'Oreal Collection
