Otis Polelonema

Otis Polelonema (1902 - 1981) was active/lived in Arizona.  Otis Polelonema is known for Native dance-symbolic genre painting.

Born in Shungopovi, Arizona, Otis Polelonema was an early painter, weaver, composer and poet, and resident of the Hopi Second Mesa.  His name Lomadamosiva means Springtime.

He was educated at the Santa Fe Indian School, 1914 to 1920, and at the Santa Fe high school.  In 1917, he began painting and was an active WPA artist.
