Tom Keogh (1922 - 1980) was active/lived in New York, California / France.  Tom Keogh is known for Modernist painting, book and fashion illustration, costume design.

Tom Keogh (1922-1980) was born in San Francisco in 1922.  He first moved to New York for his work as an illustrator for Barbara Karinska, a theater and ballet costume designer.  There he met and married Theodora Roosevelt, the granddaughter of President Theodore Roosevelt.  They moved to Paris where he worked with French Vogue.  Eventually the couple divorced and after 20 years in Paris, Keogh moved back to New York where he remained until he passed away 1980.

Keogh studied at the California School of Fine Arts and the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles.

His book and magazine illustrations include the first Paris Vogue cover; paperbacks from Barron's Educational Series; books by his wife Theodora; James Leo Herlihy's The Sleep of Baby Flibertson; and the Algerian Society's Dictionnaire des Femmes.  Editorial contributions to French Vogue led to work with Elizabeth Arden and Jean Desses.  He also designed Christmas windows for Galleries L   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1355 characters.]  Artist bio
