Thomas Grünfeld is a professor of sculpture at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf since 2004.  In the 1970s and 1980s, he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart.  Grünfeld is especially known as an object artist, whose works were influenced by the famous artist Richard Artschwager.  He became popular in 1990, when he exhibited stuffed animals at the London Gallery Karsten Schubert.  The artist lives and works in Cologne.
