Robert Marc was born in 1943 in Auxerre, France.

Marc spent his childhood in Switzerland but returned to France as a young man.  He discovered painting not is school but in museums; however he was determined to attend and art school.  Marc was especially inspired by Malevich and Rodchenko.

During the 1960's, Marc lived in Paris and spent his time working quietly in the French countryside.  Marc had his first solo exhibition in Toulouse in 1998.  In the same year, he exhibited in New York.  During his career Marc exhibited in France and other international shows such as, New York and Tokyo.  His last show was in Metz in 1995.
