Charles Garbutt

Charles Bernard Garbutt (1900 - 1975) was active/lived in California, Ontario.  Charles Garbutt is known for Animal illustrator, animator.

Born in Ontario, CA on Aug. 25, 1900 of Canadian parents, Charles Garbutt began sketching farm animals as a child, and at age 15 was earning his living as an artist.  A self-taught artist, he worked in the art department of the Los Angeles Times, was author-illustrator of children's books, taught art at the Los Angeles Zoo for the Chouinard School of Art, and created drawings of Snow White and Bambi for Walt Disney.

A lifelong resident of Los Angeles, Garbutt died on March 17, 1975.
