Clay Edgar Spohn (1898 - 1977) was active/lived in California.  Clay Spohn is known for Mod images, mural, assemblage.

Post War California artist, Clay Spohn studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts, Oakland, 1910-1916; California School of Fine Arts, San Francisco, 1914, 1920-1921; University of California, Berkeley, 1919-1922; Armin Hansen, Monterey, summer, 1921; The Art Students League, New York, 1922-1924; and Academie Modern, Paris, 1926-1927. Taught at California School of Fine Arts, 1945-1950; Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts, 1958; School of Visual Arts, New York, 1964-1969.

Solo Exhibitions: San Francisco Art League and Art Center Gallery, 1931;
San Francisco Museum of Art, 1942; Rotunda Gallery, City of Paris, 1946;
Stables Gallery, Taos, 1947; Artium Orbis Corporation, Santa Fe, 1971; The
