Manfred Bluth (1926-2002)

In 1947 he was a master student of Willi Geiger in Munich.  In 1963 Gallery Gerda Bassenge hosted one of the first solo exhibitions of the artist.

In 1973 Bluth founded the group "Schule der Neuen Prächtigkeit" together with John Grützke and Matthias Koeppel, who wanted to distance themselves from the overly abstract painting by dedicating themselves to an ironic Realism.
