Alvaro Delgado (1922 - 2016) was active/lived in Spain.  Alvaro Delgado is known for Figure, land-and townscape paintings.

Member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando since 1973, Alvaro Delgado is currently one of the best known and most important painters of Spanish expressionism, as well as one of the most sought-after portraitists. He began his career studying at the School of Painting directed in Madrid by Vázquez Díaz, and was one of the founders of the School of Vallecas. He made his debut in Madrid in 1945, and to date has had more than one hundred solo exhibitions in various Spanish cities, as well as in Buenos Aires, New York, Montevideo, Paris, London and Rome, among others. He also took part in the Biennials of Venice, Havana, Alexandria and São Paulo. Throughout his career, Delgado has won awards such as the National Gold Medals of Fine Arts and the Villa de Madrid, and is represented in the Contemporary Art Museums of Madrid, Bilbao, Buenos Aires, Cordoba (Argentina), Ciudad Trujillo, Ibiza, Camón Aznar de Zaragoza, Addis Ababa and Santander, the San Fe   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 1036 characters.]  Artist bio
