Bramson was born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1941.  She attended the University of Illinois in Champaign, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1963.  One year later she earned her Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.  In 1973, she obtained her second Master's degree from the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois.  The summer of 1962 was spent in Norfolk, Connecticut studying at the Yale Summer Art School.

Phyllis Bramson began teaching at Columbia College in Chicago, Illinois in 1972 and kept the position for ten years.  In 1985 she was hired as an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Illinois in Chicago.  She has served as the Visiting Artist at universities in Australia and the United States, and was on the board for the College Art Association for   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 2252 characters.]  Artist bio
