Albert Beck Wenzell

Albert Beck Wenzell (1864 - 1917) was active/lived in New Jersey, Michigan.  Albert Wenzell is known for Illustration-female figure, landscape.

Illustrator, Albert Beck Wenzell was born in 1864 in Detroit, Michigan, and became a popular illustrator associated with the depiction of fashionable society at the turn of the end of the 19th century into the 20th.   His subjects often were trim well-bred, well dressed girls in drawing rooms, and the figures were described by one critic as "things without existence anywhere".   He also created still lives, landscapes, and murals, and one of them was installed in the New Amsterdam Theater in New York City.

He was a member of the National Society of Mural Painters and the Society of Illustrators, which he co-founded and served as President in 1902.

Wenzell is best known for his illustrated book The Passing Show, Copyright, 1898, 1899, 1900 by P.F. Collier & Son. Copyright 1900 by Robert Howard Russell.
