Artist Alicia Maury studied fine art in her native Puerto Rico as well as received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair University in New Jersey and a Master degree in Fine arts from Kean University.

Maury has exhibited internationally and in the United States. Her honors are numerous including being awarded the "Premio de Excelencia" as a Puerto Rican artisan by the Instituto de Puerto Rico of New York. In 1991 and 1992 she was awarded "Outstanding Puerto Rican Artist of N.J." Maury also founded and served as President of the non-profit Foundation for Hispanic Women Artists, Inc. In 1999 she received the Fine Arts Award and a Resolution honoring her from the New Jersey State General Assembly.
