Antonio (Anthony) Godoy

Antonio (Anthony) Godoy (1903 - 1975) was active/lived in Mexico, Brazil.  Antonio Godoy is known for Seascape, still life, landscape, faces and portrait painting.

Antonio Godoy Moreira was a Brazilian painter and restorer, internationally recognized and with more than 3,000 works distributed by several countries around the world, mainly taken by ship captains, who docked at the Port of Santos, São Paulo - Brazil, city of his residence, between the decades of 30 and 70. 

He studied in Spain for 8 years in the early 1920's. During this period, he traveled around Europe improving his technique and seeking to know the work of great masters of painting. Due to his fame with Scandinavian ship captains, the "Godoy Club" was created in Norway, only for owners of two or more paintings by the artist.

 An excellent restorer, he restored more than 50 paintings by renowned artists in 1973, totally voluntarily, for the Hospital “Irmandade da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Santos”.
