Antonio Maraini was an Italian sculptor born in 1886 in Rome. He studied at the University of Rome Law and then devoted himself to the art, especially sculpture. Maraini worked under Achille Starace, Inspector Nazionale of Sindacato Nazionale Fascista di Belle Arti. From 1928 to 1942 he was Secretary General of the Biennale and directed the film festival Mostra Internazionale d'Arte Cinematografica. During the second world war Antonio Maraini lived in retirement in Florence and directed the Accademia del Disegno.Internet
