“$1000 offered! That’s the start for the Bufano monument atop Morro Rock! It came in two equal parts. Ten more of the same kind of twins and we’ll have enough to start the project. That’s a guestimate on my part. Richard Otto of Baywood Park made the first offer of $500 toward the project and the second was anonymous. Bufano has offered to supervise the basic construction and to do the sculpting of a monumental statue to be placed on the top of Morro Rock without charge for his labors.

This community and any other interested elements would provide for the cost of materials and construction of the core. The world famous sculptor said that such a statue should be no less than fifty feet high and my own opinion is that it should beat least 75. This is an opportunity that we can’t afford to pass, Otto believes, and I am in accord.
