Bruce McGrew

Bruce McGrew (1937 - 1999) was active/lived in Kansas, Arizona.  Bruce McGrew is known for Painting.

Bruce McGrew was born on October 20, 1937 in Wichita, Kansas.  Attended Wichita State Univ. from 1958-61 on basketball and art scholarships graduating with a BFA in painting.  Studied with Robert Kiskadden and David Bernard.  Joined James G. Davis and Eugene Harwick in forming the Bottega Studio and Gallery in Wichita.  Served in the U.S. Army 1961-62.   Earned a MFA from the Univ. of Arizona in 1964.  After a two-year teaching stint at the Univ. of Minnesota, in 1966 he returned to Tucson and joined the Univ. of Arizona's art faculty where he taught for 33 years.   In 1968, McGrew and his wife were one of 10 families and couples who established Rancho Linda Vista, the artists' cooperative in Oracle, AZ. He died on August 10, 1999 in Tucson, Arizona.
