Carl von Blaas was an Austrian historian and genre painter, father of Eugen and Julius Blaas. He was a professor at the Vienna Academy and preferred religious motives.


Among his major works are the frescoes for the Altlerchenfelder church and the frescoes of the Hall of Fame in the Military History Museum.
