Carl Peterson

Carl William Peterson (1919 - 2009) was active/lived in Kansas.  Carl Peterson is known for Snowscene, landscape painting.

Especially known for his snowy Kansas landscapes, Peterson  was born on September 22, 1919  at Fremont, Kansas and died June 1, 2009 at the Bethany Home in Lindsborg Kansas. 
 
Carl graduated from Lindsborg High School and studied art at Bethany College under the teaching of Swedish-American artist Birger Sandzen.  He graduated in 1942 with a BFA.  He received a MFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder.  He also spent a summer studying at Columbia University, NY. 
 
He taught art in public schools in Osborne, KS; Hays, KS and Salina, KS.  He taught art classes at Bethany College, Lindsborg, KS.  In 1963 he became the co-director of the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery.
