Christian Georg I Schutz

Christian Georg I Schutz (1718 - 1791) was active/lived in Germany.  Christian Schutz is known for Painting and sculpture, landscape, river.

Christian Georg I Schutz was born in 1718 Florsheim. He studied under the teaching of the Frankfurt façade painter Hugo Schlegel, and received further education with Joseph Ignaz Appiani. In 1743 he was again in Frankfurt and in 1744 married Anna Hochecker. In 1749 Schutz occupied the Brunswicker Hof and painted around 1750 in the castle Wilhelmsthal in Calden near Kassel 15 Supraporten for Landgrave William VIII of Hesse-Kassel. After the formative for his further work journey through the Rhine Valley to Koblenz (1751/52) created landscape paintings, which repeatedly show the two rivers Rhine and Main.   ...  [Displaying 615 of 932 characters.]  Artist bio
