Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet

Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (1880 or 85 - 1948 or 50) was active/lived in France, Belgium.  Claire Colinet is known for Sculpture.

Born in Brussels, Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet studied sculpture with Jef Lambeaux in Belgium.  She moved to Paris, France and exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1913.  In  1929 she was elected a permanent member and marked this occasion with the sculpture Dreams are soap bubbles.  From 1937 to 1940, she exhibited at the Salon des Independents in Paris and joined the Union of women painters and sculptors.  Her work, strongly influenced by the art Deco movement, is often inspired by biblical or historical facts.  She executed many feminine statuettes of exotic dancers and worked in bronze, sometimes inlaid with precious stones.

Her sculptures were cast by Edmond Etling, Arthur Goldscheider and the nephews of J. Lehmann.

Her last exhibition was held in 1945 and the artist passed on in 1948.
