Dewa Putu Bedil

Dewa Putu Bedil (1921 - 1999) was active/lived in Indonesia.  Dewa Bedil is known for Modern Balinese art, elongated human figures, theatrical arrangements, attention to textile patterns.

Dewa Putu Bedil was a Balinese artist who was influenced by Dutch artist Rudolf Bonnet. He painted daily life scenes with elongated human figures set in theatrical arrangements, paying great attention to the patterns of the textiles of their clothing.

Along with Anak Agung Gde Sobrat Bedil, he was among the first Balinese artists to take on Bonnet's suggestion to paint scenes of daily life in Bali.

Bedil played an important role in developing Modern Balinese art, which is characterized by layered compositions. The elongation of his human figures may have influenced Bonnet's own artistic style
