Duro

Duro (Born 1958) is known for Graffiti street art painting.

Duro began painting in the street from the years 1970-80.  His work has been published in many major publications over time, among other things in the book "Subway Art" directed by Henry Chalfant and Cooper Marta in VIBE magazine which traced the history of Hip Hop's works.  Duro has been highlighted in numerous exhibitions including one especially in a very prestigious place: the "Whitney Museum Of American Art".

Duro is one of the first "writers" and can be seen on the cover of a major publication, the book "Getting Up" Craig Castleman.  Duro also appears in the film "Style Wars" by Henry Chalfant and Tony Silver.  We also note his work in a film about the legendary Hip Hop scene "Wild Style" by Charlie Ahearn.
