Ernest Pohl

Ernest Henry Pohl (1874 - 1956) was active/lived in California, Michigan.  Ernest Pohl is known for Desert landscape.

Founder with his wife of the La Jolla, California Art Center, Ernest Pohl was businessman who did pastel painting in his leisure time. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and by 1915 he had settled in San Diego at 4468 Hortensa Street.

His works include desert landscapes of Coachella Valley and Borrego Valley. Exhibition venues include the La Jolla Art Assocation and the University of Notre Dame at South Bend.

He died in San Diego on Jan. 9, 1956.
