Federico Herrero (Born 1978) is active/lives in Costa Rica.  Federico Herrero is known for Painting.

The Costa Rican artist Federico Herrero was born in San José in 1978, where he still lives and works.  He studied architecture at the city's Universidad Veritas and painting at the Pratt Institute in New York.  On the 49th Venice Biennale in 2001 he won the special prize for young artists.

Federico Herrero is one of the most important contemporary artists in Latin America whose works already have been shown around the world in solo and group exhibitions.  His monochrome or colorful paintings and murals seem to be influenced by both the American color field painting and the glowing colors of Latin American art.
