Ferdinando del Basso, painted under the pseudonym Ferdelba (Italian, 1897-1971) was a painter primarily known for his oil paintings of cityscapes, streetscenes and marketscenes, of Naples, Florence and Paris as well as portraits and landscapes, and illuminated parchments. 

Ferdinando Alfonso Maria del Basso was born in Sant’Agata de’ Goti, Benevento, Campania, Italy of February 25, 1897 to Alfonso Francesco Maria del Basso (1864-1936) and Teresa (née Cioffi) del Basso (1862-    ) and his siblings included, Alessandra Antonia Vincenza del Basso (1886-    ), Gisella Carmina Maria Alfonsa del Basso (1890-    ), Alfredo Dreyfus Labori del Basso (1899-    ), Antonia Michelina dell Basso (1903-    ) and Anna del Basso—The artist is often mis- attributed/mislisted to the artist name ‘Mario Ferdelba’ (1897-1971) or simply ‘Ferdelba’, though the birth and death dates are often correctly listed.
