Gene Elmore (1927 - 2015) was active/lived in California, Ohio.  Gene Elmore is known for Landscape, floral, some abstraction.

Feature article, visit to his studio, “My dad was a dentist in Ohio, and Mother was a dental assistant,’ he says. ‘When Dad would drive into Toledo to pick up dental supplies, I'd often go with him, but when we got there I'd cross the street and visit the Toledo Art Museum. So I must have had some interest, I guess, even then.’After earning his pre-med degree, he rewarded himself with a trip to Europe, spending just $300 in three months visiting England, France, Switzerland and Italy. He rented overnight accommodations for a short time at the Vatican, where he saw Pope Pius XII, who stepped onto a balcony one day to greet some nuns. He also found himself alone with sculptures created by Michelangelo. ‘And whenever I went out somewhere in Europe, it was usually to a museum,’ he says.The experience inspired Elmore to enroll at the San Francisco Academy of Advertising Art when he returned to the U.S., but that venture was truncated by the outbreak of the Korean War.
