Geraldina Jacoba Sande Bakhuyzen

Geraldina Jacoba Sande Bakhuyzen (1826 - 1895) was active/lived in Netherlands.  Geraldina Sande Bakhuyzen is known for Painting.

Geraldina Jacoba Sande Bakhuyzen was an important painter of the Romantic period.   She is the daughter and pupil of Hendrik Bakhuyzen who was a well known painter of flowers, still-lifes, and watercolours.  She achieved a significant degree of renown as the result of her numerous still lifes with flowers and fruit (in both oil and watercolour) and was the recipient of many awards.

During the 1870´s and´80´s her technically very accomplished still lifes with flowers and others subjects were frequently hung in exhibitions in Austria and Germany.  Today her works can be found in museum collections in Amsterdam, Haag, Haarlem, Hannover and Rotterdam.  Her motto in life was "Be true to nature, and you will produce that which is good." Geraldina Bakhuyzen lived from 1826 to 1895.
