Gilbert Bundy

Gilbert Bundy (1911 - 1955) was active/lived in New York, Kansas.  Gilbert Bundy is known for Illustrator-figure-portrait, animal.

Born Centralia, IL, 1911 and died Nov. 22, 1955, Gilbert Bundy was an illustrator.  He graduated from high school in Winfield, Kansas and then worked for a Kansas City engraving company.

In 1929 he moved to New York and began doing cartoons for Judge and Life magazines.

He worked for Esquire in the early 1930s and also did illustrations for advertisers. He also illustrated for the Saturday Evening Post from 1939-40.

Bundy's style looked spontaneous but actually required careful preliminary study. He worked as a combat artist for King Feature covering the Pacific War Theater.
