Artist Biography & Facts
Gonzalo Torrico Pardo

Gonzalo Torrico Pardo (20th century) was active/lived in Mexico.

He studied at the School of Plastic Arts of the City of Cochabamba, Bolivia, later moved to Mexico, where he settled for the rest of his life.  Here, he released his first works, which were well accepted by a certain group of Mexican gallerists.  Mexican culture and traditions were the main influences in the work of Torrico, because his taste for the exotic led him to meet some indigenous populations, from which he discovered the beauty of nature that surrounds them, their food, clothing and all kinds of custom.

Throughout his career he was awarded several prizes and performed more than 10 individual exhibitions and 20 collective exhibitions in Bolivia, Mexico and the United States.  Source consulted: "Yesterday died the Bolivian artist and painter Gonzalo Torrico Prado, leaves ample artistic legacy"
