"I'm sending an accurate biography of Harvey G. Pruschek, a Slovenian by
birth who lived in the States. We just closed an exhibition with his works
at an important gallery in Slovenia. We planned to print an English version
of the catalogue in a couple of months.

1887 March 11 Prusheck is born in the village of Jelovec near Sodrazica. He leaves formal schooling at the age of 13 (at the end of Primary School).
1906 (Zaitz), June 19 He comes to the USA, where his elder sister was living, and works at a Cleveland foundry for some time.
1909 West Virginia, Appalachian Mountains (Beniger), forest, (Zaitz) for some time. Then he goes to Cleveland, later to Elkhart, Indiana (he works for New York Central R.R.). 1887 March 11 Prusheck is born in the village of Jelovec near Sodrazica. He leaves formal schooling at the age of 13 (at the end of Primary School).
1906 (Zaitz), June 19 He comes to the USA, where his elder sister was living, and works at a Cleveland foundry for some time.
1909 West Virginia, Appalachian Mountains (Beniger), forest, (Zaitz) for some time. Then he goes to Cleveland, later to Elkhart, Indiana (he works for New York Central R.R.). He goes to Bradley, Illinois and works at a furniture factory for eighteen months. A cousin of his was living there.
1911 He visits New York where he enjoys going to exhibitions. He takes up painting as a continuous activity.
1916 He arrives in Chicago, and he joins Jackson Park Art Colony (Kobal, Zaitz). The painter Blanding Sloan advises him not to enroll to school.
1919 He marries May, a Czech painter.
1922 Prusheck sends a painting to the Art Institute of Chicago for the first time. His daughter Marion is born.
1923 June 21 First personal exhibition in his studio, Jackson Park Art Colony
(upon his daughter's first birthday)
A group exhibition at the university (57th Street and Stony Island), "Composition" (Kompozicija) and "Sunset" (Sonãni zahod).
1924 (Zaitz) The painting "Traveler" (Potnik) exhibited in a private collection in Paris
1925 March 31 An exhibition in Chicago (reviews in the catalogue 1927))
1926 October 26 An exhibition at Sophie Cowels's house (reviews in the catalogue 1927, Prosveta)
December 20 26 His first exhibition among the Slovenes in Chicago SNPJ auditorium, SNPJ buys "The Power of Nature" (Moã narave). A Lecture by him accompanies the exhibition.
1927 He lives in Evanston, Illinois (Kobal, Zaitz)
He travels west, New Mexico, Pueblo. An Exhibition in Minnesota
March 15 - 26 His first exhibition in Cleveland, reproduction "Krina gora" (a church near his village in Slovenia) (Sodnikar). After that he travels West.
September 23 - 25 An exhibition in Milwaukee, South Side Turn, Slovene Center (reproduction: "Dreams", Chicago News, Sept. 21, 1927)
1928 (Kobal) He has been exhibiting at the Art Institute for nine years (boycott according to other sources)

August 31, Slovene American committee organized by Ivan Jontez for the purchase of a Prusheck painting for Ljubljana. The painting has awarded the Carr Prize by Milwaukee Art Institute and the Cleveland May Show prize.

1936 May, exhibition of the Yugoslav School, Cleveland Great Lakes Exhibition, Cleveland (June 27 October 4), a painting. In a letter he mentiones that on the 20th. Cleveland Museum's anniversary a painting is going to be donated by his students to the museum.

The May Exhibition in Cleveland Museum, three paintings exhibited, one of them "May in Ohiu" (Maj v Ohio) was selected for a travelling exhibition of Cleveland Museum (Prosveta, July 26). Mary Warren Foundation buys the painting City of Cleveland for the museum. Molek mentions on his visit to Cleveland that Prusheck is working on the WPA art program as an instructor.
1939 November 10 12 An exhibition of his students works and handicrafts (Progresivne Slovenke)
1940 June 7 He dies in Cleveland as the principal of Arts & Crafts Building.
