Henry Michael O'Connor

Henry Michael O'Connor (1891 - 1975) was active/lived in New York, Massachusetts.  Henry OConnor is known for Illustration-marine, still-life painting, etching.

Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, Henry O'Connor became an illustrator, painter, and etcher. His subjects included nudes, still lifes, street scenes similar to Ashcan School painters, architecture, portraits, religious motifs and military pictures, primarily naval. Books illustrated by O'Connor are Book of the Gloucester Fishermen and Navy Men.

Henry O'Connor studied at Massachusetts Normal Art School, the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts with Joseph De Camp, Frank Benson and Abbott Thayer, and in Paris at the Academy Julian. His teachers included Joseph Pennell, Joseph de Camp, Frank Benson and Abbott Thayer.

Around 1920, O'Connor, along with David Reasoner and Frederick Sisson became apprentices to Abbott Thayer at Thayer's home in Dublin, New Hampshire.
