James (J.P.) Butler (1893-1976)

An American painter, he resided in France in 1912 and in 1922 to 1924.  He lived in New York City from 1917 to 1921. He was a member of the Society of Independent Artists and exhibited there from 1917 to 1924 as well as at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1912 and 1917.
