Jankel Adler (1895 - 1949) was active/lived in Poland, England.  Jankel Adler is known for Painting, degenerate art, murals, collages.

Jankel Adler (1895-1949)

Born in Poland, he was a Jewish artist and many of his paintings were of Jewish subjects.  In 1922 he settled in Dusseldorf where he became a leading figure in the art scene.  He made contact with Paul Klee.  In 1933 he moved to France where he came under the influence of Picasso.  In 1941 he settled in England and died in London in 1949.

Apprenticeship at the Royal Post Engraver's workshop, Belgrade, 1912
School of Arts and Crafts, Barmen, Germany, 1913-14

Awards and Prizes:
1926 Dusseldorf Planetarium
1928 Gold medal at the exhibition "German art Düsseldorf"
