Jean Colin was born in 1881 in Ixelles, Belgium. Colin trained as a painter and graphic artist. Colin attended the drawing school in Anderlecht from 1893 to 1905, then studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, including with Isidore Verheyden. Colin won the 1910 medal at the Brussels World Exhibition as well as several other awards and participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.AKL, Bénézit and Wikipedia Belgium
