Jean Michel Nicollet

Jean Michel Nicollet (1944 - 2015) was active/lived in France.  Jean Nicollet is known for Book cover illustration design, drawing and painting.

Jean Michel Nicollet is an illustrator and author of French comics, born in Lyon on February 7, 1944.

He took classes at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in his hometown, where he met Jacques Tardi, then those of the Beaux-Arts in Paris. His professional debut dates back to 1970 when he offered illustrations for the monthly Lui. He continued with some advertising work and the realization of his first covers for the Folio collection at Gallimard.

In 1972, for the American publisher Harlin Quist, he conceived the iconography of the Tale of Ionesco No. 4. He joined the team of the magazine Métal Hurlant in 1977 and began Darkbusters Affairs, succession of short fantastic stories written by Picaret and him- even.
In 1979, he obtained the Grafico Fiera di Bologna for the Infanzia, from the Bologna Children's Book Fair (Italy) for Mark Twain's Story of Stephen Girard, which he illustrated.
