 “As a boy in Catalonia, Ramis’ favorite pastime was bullfighting. He was preparing to enter the priesthood when his father died, leaving family properties heavily mortgaged, including one house that had been in the family since the 13th Century. The young man, determined to pay the debts, ran a plantation near the Amazon, excavated burial sites in the South American jungles and worked in a logging camp in California.

Ramis reclaimed the family estate and turned his attention to painting. His travels became his subjects. Folk dances, primitive Indians, religious ceremonies, churches and landscapes were set down with simplicity. Ramis has had shows all over the world. Mission Museum.
