Joseph Morviller (1800 - 1870) was active/lived in Massachusetts / France.  Joseph Morviller is known for Landscape-snow-figures, coastal.

Landscape painter and lithographer Joseph Morviller, 1800-1870, was born in Paris, France. He studied fresco painting in England and France. He came to Boston, Massachusetts in 1852, painting his characteristic picturesque winter landscapes with genre elements. His images were published as chromo-lithographs by the Boston art-print publisher, Louis Prang.

Morviller exhibited in Providence, Rhode Island; Chicago, Illinois; and New York City; as well as at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia; and for twenty years at the Boston Athenaeum. His work is in the collections of the Toledo Museum of Art, Ohio; Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts; Stowe-Day Foundation, Hartford, Connecticut; and public libraries in Malden, Massachusetts; New Bedford, Massachusetts; and Topeka, Kansas.
