Lucien Frank

Lucien Frank (1857 - 1920) was active/lived in Belgium.  Lucien Frank is known for Cityscape, landscape paintings.

Lucien Frank was born in 1857.  As a pupil of Charles-François Daubigny, Frank studied in Paris and additionally received artistic advice from Edouard Manet.

Based in Brussels and Paris, he mainly painted Impressionist-Pointilistic, small-scale landscapes and marines of France and the Flemish coast.  In addition, there were flower and fruit still life as well as character scenes, with the representation of the festivals in the spirit of the Belle Époque.

Frank also worked as a pastel and watercolor painter.  He often worked in the Brussels area. Frank honored Hippolyte Boulenger and Joseph-Théodore Coosemans.  Therefore the artist was often in Tervuren, where he belonged to the second generation of the local school.
