Max Hammerl (1856 - 1886) was active/lived in Germany.  Max Hammerl is known for Genre, portrait and decorative painting.

Max Hammerl attended the school of Arts and Crafts in Munich where he perfected jhis painting skill.  Following this education he carried out genre paintings, portraits and also some decorative work including a fresco in the parish church of Kelheim north of Munich and the ceiling at the Municipal Theatre of Mainz (GER).

His soft painterly approach to painting children would liken him to the Munich school academics like Gustav Igler
