Michelle Bolinger

Michelle Bolinger (20th/21st Century) was active/lived in Illinois.  

Michelle Bolinger received a BFA from Indiana University, Bloomington in 2003 and an MFA from the University of Washington in 2005. She has exhibited widely in Chicago and nationally. Her work is focused exclusively on abstract painting contained within the edges of a frame. She uses palette, paint, and scale as limitations for her paintings as she concentrates closely on building one space at a time. She is compelled by the strata and history of the spaces she makes with paint.

As a result, she removes, stacks, layers, digs and removes again in order to discover unknown places and reveal new sites. Her own discoveries keep her painting while she hopes sharing these discoveries through painting keeps the world looking fresh and fun.
