Miloud Boukerche

Miloud Boukerche (1918 - 1979) was active/lived in Algeria.  Miloud Boukerche is known for Figure, genre.

A forerunner of Algerian painting, Miloud Boukerche was born in Sidi-Bel-Abbès in 1908. He began his career as a draftsman in a textile workshop. From 1930, he worked in Paris in a film advertising studio. From then on, he frequented many Paris museums and practiced copying, inspired by Delacroix and Etienne Dinet. Returning to Algeria in the 1930s-1940s, he developed his genre scenes and portraits in Bou-Saada. He exhibited his work at the Cercle franco-islamique d'Alger in 1947.
