Artist Biography & Facts
Nino Bertoletti

Nino Bertoletti (1890 - 1971) was active/lived in Italy.  Nino Bertoletti is known for Painting.

Nino Bertoletti started painting very young and devoted himself to painting as soon as he finished his studies, with a more personal than academic training. He made his debut in 1909 at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Rimini. In 1911 in Rome he exhibited at the Cinquantenaire Exhibition and took part in the 1st Exhibition of the Roman Secession. Around 1913 he took up his studio in Villa Strohl-fern, where he remained for about three years. After the war he exhibited at the II Roman Biennale (1923), proving to be sensitive to the climate of the "return to order", in a neoclassical declination. He participated in the 1st Italian Twentieth Century Exhibition (1926). He was endowed with a vast culture and led to an aristocratic "amateurism". He became friends with Cecchi, Pirandello, and de Chirico, to whom he dedicated a portrait in 1924. A shy spirit and free from controversy, he prefered to work in isolation; his participation in exhibitions was therefore limited. In 19J.
