Oscar T. Nelson (1891-1972) was a musician and artist who worked for the Euclid Beach Amusement Park on Lake Erie near Cleveland, Ohio. The park was a renowned attraction that operated from 1895 to 1969. He played piano and violin as background music for silent movies at the park and theater and painted scenes at the park possibly from the 1920's into the 1950's.

His recently discovered paintings fit into the genre of American folk art and exhibit deft craftsmanship with bright colors and heavy impasto. His paintings were apparently a labor of love and not created for commercial gain.
