Pietro Paolini

Pietro Paolini (1603 - 1681) was active/lived in Italy.  Pietro Paolini is known for Caravaggism style of painting.

Pietro Paolini was an Italian painter who was sent to Rome at the age of sixteen to study under Angelo Caroselli and adopt the painting styles of Bolognese and Florentines. He was strongly influenced by Caravaggism and founded his own academy in Lucca in 1640 to train local artists. He was recognized as one of the most radiant painters of the Lucca School by Giacomo Sardini. The influence of Bartolomeo Manfredi's circle is also evident in his work.
