Roy Swenson

Roy Swenson (Born 1937) is active/lives in Arizona.  Roy Swenson is known for Western landscape painting.

Roy started painting portraits of his shipmates' wives while stationed on the island of Guam in 1959.  He also took the "Famous Artist" course during his tour of duty.  Following his discharge from Naval Aviation in 1969 he worked in a commercial art studio in Pasadena, California.

Preferring a career in fine art, Roy began teaching art in galleries for a while.  After moving to Sedona, Arizona, in 1996, he began painting the sweeping vistas of the southwest - Lake Powell, The Grand Canyon, and the high desert.
