Wilhelm Ossecki

Wilhelm Ossecki (1892 - 1958) was active/lived in Poland.  Wilhelm Ossecki is known for Still life and portrait painting, graphic design, teaching.

Painter, graphic artist and teacher. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, in the years 1910-14 under the direction of Józef Pankiewicz, then, until 1918, under Wojciech Weiss. He also received a philosophical education (Jagiellonian University). 

In the years 1917-18 he studied museology in Vienna. Among his many activities, it is worth mentioning teaching and Muslim work - between 1934 and December 1939, Ossecki was the curator of the Wilanów collections. After the war, he worked in art education, and later became involved in the work of the Ministry of Culture. Ossecki painted oil landscapes, portraits, nudes and still lifes. 

He was an expert graphic designer, one of the most active creators of the Greater Poland community of the 1920s in this field. He practiced woodcut, also colored as well as metal techniques. His graphics were subject to, inter alia, formist art, the Rite, and in color woodcuts to know the influence of Japanese art.
