Wybrand Hendriks

Wybrand Hendriks (1744 - 1831) was active/lived in Netherlands.  Wybrand Hendriks is known for Portrait, still life and genre painting.

Wybrand Hendriks trained at the Academy of Amsterdam and began his career in that city before joining the guild of St. Luke in Haarlem in 1776.  He became director of the Haarlem drawing academy, and as such the first concierge (Conservative) the Teylers museum.  Member of the municipality, he participated in the Batavian Revolution.  He was primarily a portrait painter in the decades 1770 and 1780 and addressed other genres: landscape, still life of flowers or genre painting.
