Alice Briggs is a Tucson, Arizona artist who creates installations, paintings, drawings, and graphics that are richly detailed and imaginative, often evoking the philosophical writings of Plato and the illustrations of Albrecht Durer. "The Industry of Memory" is a new mixed-media architecturally elaborated installation currently presented at the Tucson Museum of Art as part of their "Directions" series of exhibitions.

Born in Borger, Texas, Alice Briggs, received a Master of Fine Arts in 1981 from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Utah State University in 1977. She has taught painting, drawing, and other media at several institutions throughout the country including The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Utah State University, the University of Iowa, and Weber State University.
